Endowment Fund
The endowment fund exists to send those who are a part of First Baptist Durango to go out and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, both locally and globally.
HOW DOes THE ENDOWMENT FUND WORK?
The Endowment Fund is meant to be a ‘gift that keeps on giving.’ There are two funds, one for local missions and one for global missions. The principal amount of money in these funds is held in perpetuity.
80% of the interest and dividends are spent to further the gospel. The other 20% is reinvested in the Endowment Fund.
HOW CAN I BE INVOLVED?

The Endowment Team would like to give you the resources you need to accomplish your mission.

- Give you the encouragement and resources to step out and
do what God might be calling you to do.
The Endowment Fund provides resources to share the Gospel—whether it’s hosting a block party with your neighbors or traveling across the world. Let’s work together to spread the Gospel locally and globally!
Give to the Endowment Fund
Estate Planning: Leaving part of your estate to the endowment fund is a way to support the purpose of the fund while creating a lasting legacy. The easiest way for you to make an estate gift to First Baptist of Durango Endowment Fund is by a bequest in your will or trust. It needs to be designated to either the Local Endowment Fund or Global Endowment Fund. Read more about how here.
Tithe to the church: Please donate above your regular tithe to the church. Donations to the Funds are tax deductible.
Endowment Fund Transparency
- Fund Management: The Endowment Team oversees the funds, ensuring they are invested according to strict guidelines.

- Global Fund Distribution: $8,021.00
- Local Fund Distribution: $6,052.00
- Fund Disbursement: Funds are distributed as requests are approved until the yearly allocation is depleted.
